EDITING YOUR OWN SHORT FILMS

(Film Co-op Members are recommended to take at least one editing course before they direct/produce their own projects through the Film Co-op)

Want to edit your own creative work and do it well? Knowing the basics and getting started with non-linear picture editing is what this workshop is all about.

Tracey will walk you through editing a project in Adobe Premiere CC, from setting up the timeline to editing operations and best practices, making creative choices, and dealing with the other stages of post production.

HOW TO WRITE AND DIRECT A SHORT FILM

(Film Co-op Members are required to take this workshop before they direct/produce their own projects through the Film Co-op)

This workshop will teach you the essentials of short filmmaking. Topics to be covered will include screenwriting, pre-production (costs/budgets/financing, gear, casting, essential crew, locations), cinematography, how to direct, capturing good audio, editing and post-production.

The workshop will include filmmaking videos and clips from award winning short films.

To attend this workshop you need to be at least 16 years old.

PRODUCTION LAB - MAKE A SHORT FILM!

(Film Co-op Members are strongly recommended to take at least one hands on course before they direct/produce their own projects through the Film Co-op)

The instructors in this hands on production lab will help the participants create a concept/idea for a 2 minute video. From there, participants will create a short script and become familiar with the technical gear needed.

They will then create a shot list, source actors within the group, props, and close by locations and shoot their film!

Whether beginner or advanced, this workshop will discuss story shape, structure and style for the screen and the ways a writer can conquer each, no matter genre, length or medium. The workshop will primarily focus on scene and character construction, how each fits into narrative theory, and the best ways to format your writing on the page.
